Social Worker Business Cards for LCSW, MSW, and Licensed Clinical Social Work Professionals

Licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed master social workers (LMSWs), and social workers are the professionally trained, state-licensed practitioners who provide psychotherapy, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, child welfare services, school social work, medical social work, and social policy practice across a vast spectrum of human service settings. Social workers hold the most common master's-level mental health license in the United States and are the largest group of mental health practitioners.

What Social Worker Cards Include

Your Credentials and Certifications

  • LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) — used in some states (Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, Oregon); independent clinical practice
  • LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) — post-MSW licensure; requires MSW degree + passing the ASWB master's exam; cannot practice independently for clinical work in most states; requires supervision; used during the post-MSW supervised experience period before LCSW eligibility
